Ikan announces the pre–release of the new OTTICA–4K PTZ Video Camera with NDI®∣HX, the first 4K camera to join the OTTICA line. The OTTICA 4K PTZ Video Camera from Ikan is a broadcast–quality PTZ camera that utilizes NDI®∣HX. Using this high–efficiency low–bandwidth protocol, you can transmit a 4K video signal at 60FPS with low latency while ensuring that your network will not get bogged down. NDI® is part of the Vizrt Group along with the Vizrt and NewTek brands, and a technology that allows video, audio, and metadata signals to be shared bi–directionally over a standard Ethernet network. With the connection of a single Ethernet cable, users can benefit from Power over Ethernet, Audio/Video transmission, tally, and PTZ controls.

“Software–driven IP workflows have become ubiquitous in video production,” said Michael Kornet, vice president, NDI. “NDI–enabled devices like the new Ikan OTTICA–4K PTZ Video Camera with NDI®∣HX exponentially increases the video sources available for live production creating efficiencies and opportunities for customers that did not previously exist. NDI is the most widely adopted IP technology on the market, epitomized by the millions of customers with access to it today.”

The OTTICA–4K features a 1/2.5” Sony CMOS sensor and varifocal lens with 12x zoom to capture videos at a maximum resolution of 4K Progressive (3840×2160) at 60fps without distortion. It employs an autofocus algorithm that ensures the lens’s focusing performance is fast, accurate, and stable. The OTTICA 4K supports NDI®∣HX, the first 4K camera to join the OTTICA line. The OTTICA 4K PTZ Video Camera from Ikan is a broadcast–quality PTZ camera that utilizes NDI®∣HX, HDMI, USB3.0 outputs simultaneously and can be controlled through the web client, allowing users to change the various parameters such as PTZ, exposure, shutter, focus, etc. Additionally, it supports RS–232, RS–485, POE (802.3af), and audio–in connectivity. Combine this camera with the OTTICA IP Camera Controller to control the camera using VISCA, ONVIF, PELCO protocols. The OTTICA–4K works with a wide variety of applications including broadcast, education, medical, live production, sports, film, theater, worship, and more.

The high–quality Sony CMOS sensor and advanced ISP processing algorithms provide vivid images with a strong sense of depth, high resolution, and color rendition. The Low Noise CMOS effectively ensures the camera’s high SNR. Advanced 2D/3D noise reduction technology is also used to further reduce the noise while ensuring image sharpness. The OTTICA–4K supports H.265/H.264 encoding which will ensure your video signal is consistent and clear even with less than ideal bandwidth conditions. Supported outputs include HDMI, USB3.0, and LAN simultaneously. To make installation more convenient, The OTTICA 4K supports RS–232 cascade function.
