POV (Point-Of-View) Cameras are traditionally designed to capture the scene in front of a person. Also coincided as “action cams” these POV cameras are innately small in size, discreet and positioned in hard-to-reach places where traditional cameras physically can’t. This allows for a unique perspective on captured scenes.

With today’s demand in video content creation, POV cameras enable creators to capture unique and dynamic video in multi-camera arrays for professional live streaming productions. However, most streaming applications are indoors, as most cameras fail to operate outside in the various weather conditions. Live streaming from a cellphone became a popular choice but was limited to the small camera sensor and minimal camera features. Most experienced livestream productions look down on cellphones as they lack the “professional” aspect. Another popularized POV solution is the GoPro, which revolutionized the “action cam” with its waterproof feature. However, the GoPro falls short in the features department, lacking in lens options, wired “weatherproof” streaming, and camera settings. Most importantly, these last two options don’t offer NDI^® compatibility, limiting the creative workflow to just cables and wires. With all of this considered, there is an enormous gap in outdoor POV cameras. Streaming shouldn’t be confined to the indoors when there is a whole world out there to enjoy!
